Day 88 Get Fit Challenge...A pretty productive off day

Today I didn't go to the gym this morning as I had an appointment at the bridal shop to find jewelry. It has been kind of nice going to try on my wedding dress about every month as I have really be able to see the difference each time I tried it on. I was able to find a gorgeous pair of earrings and necklace at the bridal trunk show, and I set the appointment for alterations for August 22nd.

Afterwards we went out and about to find florals for the throw away bouquet and stuff to make the flower girl basket. I think we ended up with some really great stuff and it's nice to get some of the little things done and off the check list.

After our full day of running around to all the different stores I made sure that I took Max for a walk around the lake to get at least some cardio in as I feel bad for not working out since this last month is crunch time and I really need to stay on track.

Day 73-75 Get Fit Challenge...hormonies, an off day, and a sunny weekend

So it's Friday, it's also an off day thank goodness because Aunt Flo decided to show up today and girls you know how the first day is so I was thankful I didn't have to muster all that energy to do a HIT workout, weightlifting, and cardio.

Saturday mom and I were going to go to the gym to do our HIT workout, but with everything that we had going on that day with driving to Waterloo to do a bunch of shopping for wedding stuff, bachelorette party stuff, and some other errands we weren't able to fit it in. However we did get cardio in in addition to walking around all day so it wasn't a complete wash. Plus we got a lot done with all the shopping and running around so that was a win.

Sunday we went to the gym and got the HIT workout and an hour of cardio in. When we got home we ate and then sat out on the deck to get some sun since it was so nice. Later we took the pontoon out and had a little boat ride around the lake and hung out with our neighbor for a bit. Not a bad way to wrap up the weekend.

Day 39 Get Fit Challenge...off day and sunshine two of my favorite things right now

Some hoity toity school once did a study about how sunshine and good weather has an impact on a person's mood, it's totally true.

Today was an off day so I decided to save the gas and not drive the 25 minutes into town to do my two cardio workouts. Instead Max and I had two walks around the lake. We took our first walk around the lake midmorning. The sun was out and there was a decent breeze couldn't ask for a better day. Because it was so nice I let Max decide our route around the lake today. We ended up having about three different detours before we made it back around to the house where both of us extremely hot but happy.

Since it was an off day I tried to be a bit more active in between cardio workouts, which wasn't hard with the list of chores I got handed today. Water all the flowers, fold all the laundry, grill up the next batch of chicken, pick up all the sticks in our yard and our neighbor's yard, scoop up all the dog poo, rise out the garbage cans, you know fun-ish house b!tch stuff like that. Add to that all the wedding crap I did today and it was almost like working a full day at a real job.

Tonight when the temperature cooled off a bit my mom and I took Max on yet another walk around the lake this time the opposite direction we usually go to break it up a bit. We also seemed to do more of a power walk as we wanted to make it back to the house before dark. Hopefully Max wasn't too upset he didn't get to stop, sniff, and pee on everything he wanted to.

Tomorrow my brother is in town for a visit before he and his fiance move to North Carolina. While he is in he is going to re-work my workouts to fit more with the equipment I have access to at the new gym, and I am curious to see what he comes up with. I have a feeling he is going to crank it up about 10 notches but everyone needs a little push and hey with an even more challenging workout who knows I might get some of the gym motivation back because I want to conquer it.

Day 25 Get Fit Challenge...I don't want to work out

Today I think I hit my limit. Woke up feeling super tired and it took everything I had to get myself to the gym this morning, but I went and got my workout in.

It super sucked and I thought I was going to die, but I didn't and hopefully me not skipping today will reflect well on the scale Sunday. I did however come home and had to take an hour nap because there was no energy left in me. Me being tired all of the time all of a sudden is kind of worrying me as working out and eating right is supposed to give you more energy where my workouts seem to drain the life out of me, especially this week.

Tonight's weight training was for back and I have to say I'm pretty impressed with how strong my back muscles are after my legs I it's the strongest body part I have. Cardio tonight was challenging mostly because I didn't want to do it because I was tired and my legs were not up to it.

I did end up doing 20 minutes on the stair stepper and 15 minutes on the elliptical. Sadly the stair stepper was easier...damnit. The good news is that tomorrow is an off day so all I have to do are my two sessions of 35 minutes of cardio. Hopefully the weather is nice cause the plan is to go hiking around Weston Bend State Park which will be a nice change from the gym and cardio machines.

Day 24 Get Fit Challenge...I cannot wait for an off day

Working out is catching up with me this week and I woke up feeling sore and tired which made for a rough morning workout. Cardio is now my new nemesis which is too bad because that was the one part of my workout that I didn't mind. However, ever since my brother amped up the resistance my opinion has changed. I struggle through every second of both 35 minute sessions of cardio, and the one at night always seems to be more difficult to get through than my morning one.

My new HIT workout has been going ok. Today I could see improvement in my sledge hammer squats so that was a win. Even though I haven't lost any weight I have been improving my fitness level and I am really happy about that. I find that after my HIT workout I feel like I've accomplished something and that makes me feel really good even though I am a sweaty hot mess.

Tonight's weight lifting was biceps and triceps. Preacher curls kicked my ass as usual, but I was able to crank more out in pull ups and dips so that was a win. I'd like to get to the point with those where I can knock out 12-15 reps instead of 7-10. It would also be really awesome if I could graduate from assisted pull ups, but at this point I think I might be getting ahead of myself.

Tomorrow is the last day of my 4 days on and it's ending with a back workout. Needless to say I am excited for an off day I'm feeling very run down and kind of over working out. Not sure if it's just my body telling me to rest or if the no carb thing is catching up to me. We'll see but for now my two hour afternoon naps will have to suffice, and honestly who doesn't like a nice nap in the afternoon.
